These paintings and drawings illustrate my interest in learning more about how to represent the human figure in its many poses. As a genre artist I need to constantly build on my knowledge of the human figure and how it can be shown. I am not a portrait artist and therefore do not want to create realistic images of my subjects. I want to capture the quirkiness of humans but to do this I need to constantly practise my painting and drawing of figures.
