Burbank Court Christmas Party

Oil on canvas. 60cm x 90cm. Certainly my most complex genre study. This painting was commissioned by a neighbour who asked me to paint our annual Christams Party which takes place in the court each year. It was a great challenge to paint everyone and all the dogs. Most of the products on the table originated in new Zealand, the home country of my neighbour. Some people didn't understand the difference between a genre style and portraits so were disappointed that they didn't look their handsome best!
