Dusty is a 4 year old with the ability to see patterns in his world and to reproduce these patterns. He definitely has the soul of an artist. If you look carefully he repeats shapes - particularly triangles. Although he does have some circular lines, mostly he uses straight lines. What is remarkable with Dusty's drawing is the advanced spatial awareness he has. Every shape has a boundary, every shape has its own space. Remember there is no "right" way to draw or paint. Children especially must be allowed to have time to create in their own way. And just a little word of advice- don't drive your child crazy by asking them all the time to describe what they have drawn.Yes, ask them if they want to talk about their drawing but if they don't its okay. As a "mature" artist I certainly don't want to talk about my paintings. Let the drawing or the painting do the talking.
