We have another celebration to recognise this week - Naidoc Week.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are usually held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Naidoc is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.¹ Because of the pandemic the celebration of Naidoc Week has been moved to 8-15 November.

NAIDOC Poster Gallery

The first NAIDOC poster was created in 1972 to promote “Aborigines Day” which had become widely accepted as a day for Australians to come together in support for better rights for Indigenous people.
