Country Man of the MoMent Sunsets are fun to create. The scene could be almost anywhere. The message could be almost anywhere: climb a hill or a mountain (metaphorically is okay) stop, take off your shoes and sit down where you can take in the best view. My version of: "Don't forget to stop and smell the roses".

People & Creatures The Irishman A very popular image which I painted twice. The stimulus came from a photo I took while travelling in Ireland when I spotted an Irishman riding his bike up a country road. Later I spied his bicycle leaning against the wall of a country hotel.

Country All About the WaterMill The second of a pair of paintings depicting water mills. The idea came from an old photo of mills I took while travelling in France in the 1980s. In this painting I tried to create a sense of a community of buildings grouped around the function of running a mill.
