The Future of Modern Restorations?

As we have been looking at the restoration work of Jane Fortune’s and Advancing Women Artists, Caroline alerted me to the restoration of The Night Watch by Rembrandt, about to be undertaken at the Rijksmuseum. The intriguing element is that this enormous painting will be restored in full view of the public, which you can read about on the link below.

Perhaps other museums will also adopt this method enabling us to gather some understanding of the lengthy and painstaking restoration processes.

I will be going to the Rijksmuseum in September and hope to see some progress - of course you will be the first to read of my impressions.
