The picturesque scenery of the Basses-Pyrenees of France

Today we will spend a few minutes enjoying the peaceful scenery of Arette, at the foot of the Basses-Pyrenees (also known as the Pyrenees-Atlantiques), in the Aquitaine region of south west France, near the Spanish border.

It is a picturesque area of old chateaux and towns at the foot of majestic mountains, with many walking trails which the locals have used for hundreds of years, and are still popular today ……

In Spring, the hills abound with delicate alpine wildflowers such as orchids, gentians, saxifrages and lilies……
