Today we are going to enter his property by following the driveway which leads all the way up to the house on the left with an extensive vegetable garden on the right.

We stop to say hello to the frog in the letter box - only one this morning!

No wait... there is his mate in the far back right hand corner - out of the sight of peeping human eyes!

As you walk up the driveway, turn to the left (as shown in the image below) you can see the view you will have of the front garden which is the main feature of my brother's creative works ... developed over decades of research and hands on loving care.

The towering trees you see would all have been planted as tiny saplings and now they are the pillars of achievement to his amazing talent for design - choosing just the right plant to go in each space.

On the right of the driveway is one of the vegetable gardens but there isn't much to show you as it was approaching the viciously hot summer when I took these photos and most of the vegetable ground was being prepared for new planting.

Nevertheless the beautiful garden gate is worth stopping to admire. And you will note as we move about my brother's interest in Asian art and architectural design.

One constant in My Brother's Garden are the Indian Runner Ducks which he breeds to keep all the bad bugs under control.

When I was visiting two ducklings had been born and were gradually being introduced to living in paradise!!

Tropical growth is luxurious as we know ...

And wherever you look there is a magnificent view - in this case over the top of the grape vine...

My knowledge of tropical plants is zilch!! Would someone please identify this tulip looking tree!!

There is a second vegetable garden down back of the property before you arrive at the native bush area left untouched which you can see beyond the vegetable garden beds - again being prepared for new plantings.

In the image below you can see the native bush beyond the cultivated area. My brother has his own personal jungle!!

Whilst I never want to grow it because of its delinquent behaviour I do love bamboo which has such wonderful shades of colours...

I do hope you have enjoyed a wander around My Brother's Garden. When next I return to this series you will walk with me around the cultivated garden which is spectacular. Coming up soon.
